How cute is Tatum holding her own bottle? I love the Nanobébé bottle! It is shaped like “mom” aka me and it is easy to clean! You wouldn’t think it holds a lot, but it does! I fit a whole 5 ounces in here, even though Tatum usually only drinks 4 ounces per feeding. I also love how easy it is to hold, it looks effortless, doesn’t it?? I definitely plan on getting more because these stack in your cabinets also, so you don’t have to have them laid out all next to each other taking up space like most of my other bottles. If you open one of our cupboards it is definitely allllll baby bottles and storage lol!

They were also so sweet to send me their new Duet Diaper Bag! I love the colors of this, because Tom is always wanting “gender neutral” diaper bags and this is perfect for him and I both! As you can see there is dual level storage with the zipper on top, and then storage slots when you unzip the bottom. The straps are heavy duty (they have already lasted through my cat knawing on them), and can easily hang from your stroller with a clip. It also comes with a bottle cooler for those picnic dates AND a diaper changing pad, which I like because I hate having to switch necessities between diaper bags! This one fits more than my other ones, and keeps things organized with the lower compartments, so I plan to make this one our “car” diaper bag – that way it’s always ready when we need to hop in and go somewhere! 🙂

I want to start off by saying that this may not be the same for your baby – but for us, we have tried out so many different swaddles because our baby girl is a Houdini! We’ve tried swaddling her with an arm out and she startles herself, tried swaddling with arms up but tucked in and she gets them out to put her arms over her head, and we’ve tried swaddling them down and she will wiggle around until she can get one of her arms free, then startles herself and cries. It has been a process! So I thought i’d share which swaddles we love and in which order in case any other mamas or mamas-to-be need help or are looking for a review! I started with our most favorite all the way down to our least favorite. 🙂

(Also, if you noticed the spit up to her left she did that RIGHT when I laid her down / of course, but I wanted to use this blanket sooooooo whoops! Lol!)

Nested Bean Swaddle

This is our favorite swaddle (obviously being at number 1). The light weighted area on the chest, and the two on the sides make your baby feel hugged and secure. This has worked WONDERS for her! We were a little weary because the velcro doesn’t really work for her, but once we flip up the part with the weights she doesn’t wiggle at all! We also have this in the sleep sack so it will be a perfect transition for her. I definitely suggest investing in these!

Embe Swaddle

This swaddle was the first one we discovered that she would sleep longer than an hour with because it zips her arms in snug, whereas the velcro ones she is strong enough to get loose. It has plenty of wiggle room in the hips so that she can move her legs, but is tight up top. We use this one when we are washing the Nested Bean one.

Straight Jacket Swaddle

We got these off of Amazon when we realized she liked the zipper ones more. We call them straight jacket ones because she can’t move and she loves it! Cheap and are a god send! They keep her feeling snug.

Love to Dream Swaddle

We love to use this one during the day for her naps. She can sleep with her arms up which she likes, and if she startles herself awake then we keep her entertained so that she will hopefully soon let us sleep through the night! This one she usually sleeps around 2-3 hours in which is perfect for nap time!

Ollie Swaddle

I was hesitant to list this one because it hasn’t worked for her, but I am hoping it will once she stops trying to wiggle her arms out. I am listing it because I love the moisture-wicking material – super breathable, and I love that the bottom of the swaddle ties so you can make it as long as you want it to be as your babe grows.

Velcro Swaddles

These are also good for naps, but they won’t last us during night time because she is able to get her arms free.

I have heard good things about the SwaddleMe swaddles, but don’t have any so I can’t say anything about them.

Today I wanted to talk to you guys about Tatum’s baby box book. I looked long and hard for a baby book that I wanted that is more “modern”. I came across this one from Stash + Story and it grabbed my attention right away because I love the hardcover box look to it. I also love that you can take pages out, put them in, and rearrange them if you want. I reached out to Stash + Story for a collaboration and am so lucky to partner with them. They mailed it out to me the next day since it was so close to baby girls due date and I was able to bring it to the hospital to do her footprints and handprints (her left hand went a little crazy) just in time!

I filled out other pages this past week, once everything calmed down a little around here, and I am so happy I will have these memories to look back on, and that Tatum will be able to look back on. It’s so easy to say “i’ll remember those details”, but you won’t! I barely did when I was writing them into her book!

The variety of pages are so much fun, I took a few pictures to show you guys what they are like, and they are VERY organized! They offer an option for a package of “firsts” such as First Easter, First Halloween, First Christmas, etc. that I will be able to fill out for her for each holiday and glue or tape in a picture of her on them. There are also pages for each year for her birthday, that has a drawing for her to color on each of her birthdays – which I also will love to see how her coloring evolves from year to year.

I know baby books can be a lot to keep up with, but this one is simplistic yet has everything you would want to record. I’m not sure if Tom and I are going to have more kids (he wants more already lol), but if we do – I am definitely going to get a Stash + Story book for each one of them! You can even choose the insert accent color – blush, navy, or gray. I went with gray for her (very tempted to do the blush), but I wanted more of the clean, modern look.

Here is the LINK to the baby book box that I have, and a LINK to the package of firsts pages. You need to go check them out if you have a young babe that needs a baby book, or are expecting! I can’t wait to have it be part of her bookshelf for years to come! 🙂

It has been a long time coming but our nursery is finally complete! I will do another post with closet and dresser organization once I get all of her stuff completely washed. I am about 75% done with that! When we first moved into our house in July this room was baby pink. I think Tom was SO relieved that I didn’t want a pink nursery lol! The vibe/theme I was going for is gray and dreamy?!?! I wanted it to be calm and clean looking, with a hint of girly. I have tried to link everything on the widget below, but if there is something else you’d like the link for just leave a comment or message me on Instagram! 🙂

IMG_1883Packing our hospital bags was definitely hands down one of the most stressful things because I HATE packing! Most of the time I overpack, but i’d rather pack too much than too little and need Tom to leave me to run home real quick. I will list what I put in my bag, Tatum’s bag, and Tom’s bag! I also packed a separate bag of all of our toiletries, and then we have a bag that my friend Kristine gave us at our baby shower that has champagne and glasses inside so we can celebrate one night or day! I have heard that you want to leave some space in your bag to bring extras home that they give you, and to take as much as you can before you leave such as the ice packs, and allllll the goodies. We have both car seat bases installed in our car and the car seat by the door so we can just grab it when the time comes.

My hospital bag:

  • Adult diapers or always discreet underwear (I decided to go with the second – I even let Tom pick them out! haha!!)
  • Blanket from home
  • Button PJ set
  • Chapstick
  • Charging cables (people say bring a long one – I don’t care if I need to charge my phone and don’t have it by me)
  • Cheap towels to leave there (showering with our own)
  • Clip on fan (I used the one we got for her stroller – make sure batteries are in it lol)
  • Dermoplast (blue can)
  • Flip flops for shower
  • Frida baby mom washer (I bought this and have it at home in case I don’t like the hospital one that they give me – if I don’t need it I will return)
  • Glade plug in (I can’t stand the smell of hospital)
  • Going home outfit (I opted for leggings and a loose tunic so i’m comfortable)
  • Insurance card
  • Nightgowns (ordered this and this off of amazon)
  • Nipple cream (recommended from my coworker)
  • Nursing bras
  • Nursing pads
  • Nursing tanks
  • Own pillow from home with throw away pillowcase (I may leave this in the car just in case we want it we can run out)
  • Perineal spray (same idea as Tucks but I don’t know which I’d prefer yet)
  • Robe (I brought this to wear over the nursing tanks for days I don’t want to get dressed and in case I don’t want to wear a nightgown)
  • Slippers with grip
  • Socks
  • Snacks
  • Sweater (in case I get cold)
  • Toiletries (listed below)
  • Toilet paper (for Tom and guests)
  • Tucks
  • Tylenol

(Certain things like Tucks, Dermoplast, and Perineal spray, I know i’ve heard they give to you, but I chose to pack them for ease of mind for myself.

Tatum’s Hospital Bag

  • First picture props (any stuffed animals too)
  • Going home outfit
