Black Sweater Detail/Engagement Party

Sweater is here(on sale for $32!) jeans here(on sale for $40!) shoes here, sunglasses here.
This sweater is so cozy and cute! I love the sleeve detail with the grommet holes and sweater tie. Any black sweaters will most likely be added to my closet. In the winter I am such a neutral colored person. Black, gray, cream, and ivory are my go to colors. I wore this sweater with these shoes to spice up my look a little bit. I absolutely love them! They are so colorful and add some print to plain outfits. Slide them on and go! These jeans I got during the Nordstrom sale. I wish (being so tall) that they were a little longer inseam, but I had to have them because of the split detail at the bottom of them. Shop my outfit using the links above or the widget below.
I missed a blog post this weekend because our weekend was crazy busy. Toms family has been in town the past week from Arizona, so any free minute we have from work or other events we have been spending time with them. They just flew back today, which is why I am now writing my blog post. Labor day weekend was very eventful! Friday after school Tom and I finished running around and getting our presents ready to give our bridal party at our engagement party. We finally got them all put together and ready to go. Saturday we woke up, had lunch, and cleaned because his family was coming over and so were his boys for his football draft. I left around 5pm to go to my friends surprise party which was so fun! We played a game called Battle of the Sexes. So funny!
On Sunday we had Tom’s grandpas 90th birthday party at this really pretty golf course. It was absolutely beautiful, and his grandparents are seriously the cutest! (I know everyone says that – but they really are). Still dancing together and having fun; I wish I could be like that – let’s hope! Then on Monday we had our engagement party. I went a little early to help my family set up for it and my mom and sister had balloons and flowers in little mason jars with ribbon, signs, picture frames with our engagement photos, and appetizers. It was so sweet and I am so so blessed to have them in my life! My best friend Krista brought the cutest popcorn goodie bags and the cutest wooden made bucket list and her and her twin sister were having people write things for us to do as a couple – some of them are so funny! She also made this poster board sign that you can see in all of our pictures on Instagram. She is such a DIY girl I love it and all she did! If I wrote everything that everyone did on here I think this would be the longest post ever. I was talking to Tom last night and the night before that I feel like no amount of time would have been enough to spend with all of our family and friends. It scares me for our wedding day that it will go by so fast!! I am SO SO SO thankful for all of the people who helped make our engagement party so special and for all the time and thought everyone spent whether it was helping plan, helping set up, clean up, socializing, or just thinking of great gifts. We got such fun ones and we will be forever grateful and so ready to return the favor when all of our friends are up!:)
